What a time and stress saver!

The first time I used these, the cats were smarter than me. They ate the pocket and spit out the pill. Or they chewed it and foamed at the mouth. I gave up. I have a cat that needs half a Benedryl regularly so after 7 years I tried again and I am so happy I did.

How you use these is pretty crucial. It works best on cats that like food, not picky eaters. You give them a few empty "pockets" first. Then carefully cover the entire pill with the pocket, especially if the pill's not totally coated (like cut in half). Throw that to your kitty after the empties. Follow immediately with another empty pocket. When they get used to these treats, 3 will usually do: First: empty, second: carefully closed pill, third: "palette cleanser".

Sounds silly, but that third chaser makes a big difference. It distracts them and helps get that pill taste out. For my Siamese, it keeps him from foaming at the mouth for an hour and that is worth an extra treat. Or three. I hope this review is helpful, even if your situation is a little different, we spent a lot of time with trial and error and I hope it helps someone else and their kitty.

Cut your pill in half if it’s whole. End result will be more manageable for cat. Take Pill Pocket and break off enough to wrap the pill piece, covering it entirely but without too much excess. Place in serving dish. Crumble Just One Whole Food Cat Treats over the pill. You’ll have powder on your dish, roll treat around in it. You don’t have to coat in powder, just get some stuck to pill. Leave remaining powder in dish with “meatball” pill. I serve in raised cat dish to get the smell of powder right under cat’s nose, but not imperative. I dose my senior with 8 pill pieces a day, they go down pleasantly for us both. Occasionally, he spits back a pill, or won’t finish one because it’s gotten spitty. Reclaim, unwrap, begin again. I have had consistent success, and sister-in-law used this on a cat who wasn’t really eating & needed meds. Stick with Turkey or Chicken Just One, Salmon or Cod don’t crumble as nicely. One Pill Pocket gets 4 pills at a time

My Cats have NEVER spit these out. Even when the pill is poking out and it's super obvious that I am trying to drug them.
*They stay fresh for well over a month (even when I don't seal the package) and even when they're less than fresh, they are still able to be mashed around a pill or whatnot.
And it's soooooo much easier to give these than having to prep a homemade pill vehicle.

My cat is completely uninterested in Feline Pill Pockets, with AND without the pill inside.

Surprised at how well they work. Giving my kitty her meds is now a breeze.
